Above are the links to my final project presentation along with the arcGIS Story map used to create this presentation. This project was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of the factors originally chosen in selecting a route for a transmission line crossing the Manatee-Sarasota line. Through Analyzing these factors, I seek to understand their influence on the final route and find any potential areas for improvement. Data layers required for this project include Wetlands/conservation areas, county parcel boundaries, Schools, existing transmission lines, Manatee and Sarasota county schools, Roads/highways, Florida Cities, and Water features. This project reinforced the importance of data conditioning, projection accuracy and spatial reasoning in GIS. It shows how mapping and quantitative analysis can inform complex infrastructure decisions in a clear and visual way.
